Cultural Association UMIKO

The UMIKO Cultural Association brings together everyone who is interested in Asian pop culture - anime, manga, video games, board games, Japanese, Korean and Chinese traditional culture, J-pop and K-pop music, cuisine, cosplay, illustration and everything that fits next to it. Anyone can join the association and get to know us better and socialize with other enthusiasts.

HISTORY:

The UMIKO Cultural Association was officially founded on January 24, 2023 in Koper, but the activity of the association goes back many years. At that time, still under the joint association ANIMOV, we started organizing exhibitions, comic book fairs, cosplay performances, playing video games, etc. in Izola. In 2022, for the first time in Koper, we held a large convention called UmiKo, which turned out to be very successful. However, the organization of such a large event took its toll, as tensions and circumstances led to the fact that we unfortunately had to say goodbye to the ANIMOV association and continue on our new path, under the name UMIKO.

STRUCTURE:

Our association is a non-profit association that has its own statute. In addition to all the members who together represent the general assembly, it also consists of the management board and the supervisory board.

HOW TO JOIN?

You can become a member of the association by filling out the membership declaration and handing it to us signed or sending a scanned copy to info@umiko.si. In addition, members must pay an annual membership fee. If you join between January 1 and June 30, the membership fee is €30.00, but if you join later in the year, the membership fee is €20.00. You transfer the amount of the membership fee to the association's bank account, where you must write that it is a membership fee and add your name and surname. We protect personal data in accordance with the regulations.

Members of the association receive a membership card, which allows them free entry to all our events and certain discounts from other providers. Members of the association have access to Discord channels reserved for members, the right to vote and run for the association's bodies, and to attend meetings and the general assembly. In addition, members of the association have organized transportation to conventions in Slovenia and abroad and to team building events. Members also have the exclusive right to pre-selection to rent a booth at our convention, even before registration officially opens. We try to add new benefits every year as we grow.
