The UMIKO Cultural Association brings together everyone who is interested in Asian pop culture - anime, manga, video games, board games, Japanese, Korean and Chinese traditional culture, J-pop and K-pop music, cuisine, cosplay, illustration and everything that fits next to it. Anyone can join the association and get to know us better and socialize with other enthusiasts.

 

HISTORY:

The association was officially founded on January 24, 2023 in Koper, but the activity of the association goes way back. At that time, still under the joint association ANIMOV, we started organizing exhibitions, comic book fairs, cosplay performances, playing video games, etc. in Izola. In 2022, for the first time in Koper, we held a large convention called UmiKo, which turned out to be very successful. However, the organization of such a large event took its toll, as tensions and circumstances led to the fact that, sadly, we had to say goodbye to the ANIMOV association and continue our new path, under the name UMIKO.

STRUCTURE:

Our association is a non-profit association that has its own statute. In addition to all the members who together represent the general assembly, it also consists of the management board and the supervisory board.
